Securing Sport is an international platform that convenes the world’s leading decision- and policy-makers who are committed to taking action to safeguard sport. Hosted annually by the ICSS in different global capitals – London (2014) and New York (2015) – this high-level global conference addresses current issues which impact the safety, security, integrity and legacy of sport.
Participants include leaders in government, international organizations, sports federations and the private sector who are key stakeholders in the governance, stewardship and protection of sport, and who recognize the critical role of sports in worldwide social and economic development and as an instrument to positively influence the geopolitical stage.
Securing Sport addresses wide-ranging challenges to sport – for example, the role of organized crime in sport betting and match fixing, legalized gambling, athlete abuse, cyber-threats, stadia safety and security, financial integrity, human trafficking by unauthorized sports agents, and many other emerging issues, including the protection of vulnerable women and children.
Further details on the 2015 event programme as well as speakers and panelists will be announced shortly.
